Home Caving Rayovac Mod Circuit |

I've been caving since I was about 10, turned on to the sport by my older brother, John, when he took me to a small cave about a mile from our house, under the very old Buchanon house.
I'm a member of the National Speleological Society (NSS# 53038) and Secretary of the Southport Chronic Cavers grotto, member (by default) of T.A.G., the Tennessee Alabama Georgia caving community.
The initial purpose to this part of my web site is to show how I modified a Rayovac Sportsman 3-in-1 headlamp from a single white LED with two red LEDs to a three white LED lamp, and the addition of a simple constant current circuit that maintains about 20mA of current to the LEDs throughout most of the life of the batteries. Click here to see the mod.
But while we're on the topic, here's the list of non-commercial caves I have explored so far, updated as I visit more and more:

Some shots of one of my recent caving trips can be found on Lynn Roebuck's Photo Pages.
